Sumbawa Regency is part of West Nusa Tenggara Province and it consists of both land and sea natural attractions. The region even features an archipelago where many beautiful gilis or small islands reside. Kenawa Island is one of them and it is known for both the stunning sea and the famous Kenawa Hill. That means tourists should head to the island first if they want to explore and get on the top of the hill. At that spot, they can enjoy several tourist activities like sightseeing, photography, camping, and short trekking.

The most common reason to visit Kenawa Hill is definitely sightseeing while trekking. The track is easy, so tourists are able to reach the top of the hill without hassles. This explains the hill is suitable for beginners or those who never conduct hiking at all. Not to mention the reward is quite astonishing. The sea scenery looks amazing from the top of the hill. Plus, it features a stunning green savanna, located beneath the hill.

Another thing that tourists can enjoy in Kenawa Hill is camping. Usually, tourists may build the tent on the savanna or some other comfy spots near to the beach. The size of the island is about 8 hectares, so it is able to accommodate many campers, so don’t worry. Some tourists decide to build the tent on the top of the hill, though. Have no worries. It only takes about 10 minutes to reach the spot. The hill is quite not tall, after all.

How to Get There

The first destination is Sumbawa Regency. It can be done the fastest if tourists take an airplane. From Jakarta City (Soekarno – Hatta International Airport) for example, the flight may take around 4 hours and 5 minutes to reach Sultan Muhammad Kaharuddin III Airport. Once arriving at Sumbawa, the next destination is Badas Port where tourists can get a boat service to Kenawa Island. This voyage only takes about 25 minutes, so don’t worry.
