Dr. Delwar Hossain

Dr. Delwar Hossain is Professor of International Relations and Founding Director of the East Asia Study Center. He was the Chairperson of the Department of International Relations from November 2009 to October 2012. He received his second MA as an Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scholar from International University of Japan (IUJ), Niigata, Japan. He did his doctoral study as the Monbukagakusho Scholar from Ferris University, Yokohama, Japan. He also served as a Research Associate at the BIISS, Dhaka, Bangladesh during 1994-95. He authored book on Globalization and New Regionalism in South Asia and contributed more than thirty five articles and chapters in national and international journals and books. He has conducted research on foreign policy, peace and security issues, globalization and regional cooperation, human rights and governance. In area studies, he specializes in South Asia with focus on India, East and Southeast Asian regions. He regularly contributes columns in national newspapers in Bangladesh. He is associated with several national and international professional organizations and networks.
